God No Go Shame Us - No Be By Mouth

There have been increasing calls by different quarters to literally save the planet from the effects of climate change, with scientists warning that humans are running out of time to limit global warming to 1.5°C. Obviously, Nigeria and Nigerians have bigger fishes to fry besides the discussion about pollution or climate change. However, it is worth nothing that the African nation is not immune to the effects of environmental pollution. The Niger Delta oil spills and how the unfortunate phenomenon has hindered people from going about their lives as farmers while also making "clean" water a luxury are signals to another gun powder that the country might be toying with.

Cop26 is shedding more light on the need for the world to take drastic steps to reduce emissions and stop deforestation. But of course, Nigeria was not only absent but has over the year seem to take a laid back approach to tackling climate change and its effects.

So enough of all the grammar and English and maybe that's the reason for our lackadaisical attitude. We are all culprits in our little space. From indiscriminate disposal of waste, including from the car window and on the streets to keeping mum when we see such dastardly acts as a man using his "blockus" in the open.

Only a few of us can make it to Glasgow. However,  we can influence things in our little way by doing the seemingly little things like disposing of waste properly and educating people on the inherent dangers of undesirable activities while also practicing what we preach.

But what do I even know sef.
