Leaving Your Daughter To Gift Another's Jigida

There is a popular saying in yoruba that "omo eni o ni se idi bebere ka fi ileke si idi omo elomi." It means "one won't leave his daughter with good hips to put waist beads on the hips on another." The saying sounds funny but I couldn't think of a better analogy for the recent premiere of Big Brother Nigeria in Niger Republic.

The gift is attention-seeking on all fronts, from the cost of the purchase to the reason and even the decision to leave our very own Innoson Vehicles to invest such a huge amount in a foreign company. I mean, whatever happened to the "buy Nigeria to grow the naira" slogan.

I wouldn't want to dissect the decision any further as I believe the people at the helm of affairs know better.

But what do I even know sef.
