Nigeria - Any Way Forward, Really?
You can't have about 5 press releases to write in a day and the APC's face-off will be your worry. However, when the news of stamp duty hits the headlines, you have to start thinking how it will impact your freelancing money.
From the promise of diversification to looking for oil in the North, subsequent governments seem to have effortlessly displayed their cluelessness in tackling the issues of the country. One would have thought the FGN would focus on reviving the textile industry and the once renowned Agric sector that led to the famous groundnut pyramids. However, it is looking clearer to the blind that the country ain't even close to being in the tunnel, so no light can be seen at the end.
The national assembly is reportedly in talks with cable TV companies or modifying their charges. But is yet to address the fundamental cause of the expensive charges - high cost of production. It costs more to run any business in Nigeria than any other part of the world. Yes, there is the argument that Nigeria has a market. However, I can only give what I have. Let the government fix the power situation and watch other sectors align even without the intervention of the government. The World Bank recently reported that the lack of steady power costs Nigeria trillions of Naira yearly. So before the government thinks KFC reviving Ajaokuta or any other white elephant project, help us to beg them to give us light and we will be fine.
Anyways, what do I even know sef - still clueless...
