The Game of Thrones in Nigeria

I actually something totally different in mind this morning,  but the story of the Boxing Obas caught my attention.

So yes,  I'm guessing we all know no episodes of the popular GOT was shot in Nigeria. However,  while some of us were basking in the euphoria of Valentine, I guess some royalties had to test their recently acquired gifts - a pair of boxing gloves, as the Oluwo of Iwoland,  Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi,allegedly boxed Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa, Oba Sikiru. The show of shame as many have called was even more interesting as it was meant to be a peace meeting between both "rulers."

The captivating flick was set in the office of the Assistant Inspector-General of Police (AIG) Zone 11, Bashir Makama with a good number of people having a filled time as the show went down. 

The Oluwo has subsequently offered an explanation for his actions in a post on IG. "I Defended Attempt by Agbowu to Stick my Eyes After He Called Me Mad Man- Oluwo

Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba (Dr.) Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi has made a clean breast of the allegation that he beat Agbowu of Ogbaagbaa, Oba Sikiru," the Oluwo said. "How could a constable openly insult commissioner of police and make an attempt to beat the CP? Can any monarch try such with Ooni, Alaafin?" he continued. 

The action of the monarch is not coming as a surprise, considering the news flying around about him and his precedence. Anyway, our leaders are a reflection of our society, so we should expect more from these so-called leaders. 

For the people of Iwoland, enjoy the trend while it last.
